On this tour, you will explore the highlights of Cappadocia in a single day. We start with a walk through ROSE VALLEY, one of the region’s most scenic trekking areas, and see impressive rock-cut churches. Next, we visit CAVUSIN, an old Greek village known for its historic houses and churches, and then stop at ORTAHISAR CASTLE to explore its storage caves. In the afternoon, we visit KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY, where early Christians once lived in secrecy, and enjoy panoramic views of PIGEON VALLEY, learning how pigeons helped locals fertilize their vineyards. Optional wine tasting is available at a nearby winery. We continue to DEVRENT VALLEY to see the unique fairy chimneys, then visit AVANOS, a pottery town where craftsmen work with clay from the Kizilirmak River. Finally, we explore the GOREME OPEN AIR MUSEUM, home to rock-cut churches and monasteries with frescoes from the 10th–13th centuries. The tour ends with photo stops before returning to your hotel.
